I just submitted the next version of the Jetduino for production. I should receive 10 bare prototype boards in a few weeks. If you read my previous post on the testing of version 1 of the Jetduino, then you know that there were several issue that had to be worked out. I have addressed all the problems I found there, and made a number of enhancements as well. Figure 1 shows the new version, with each section labeled.

Several of the issues that happened last time were related to some things not quite fitting. To try and make sure that did not happen again this time, I created a wooden prototype. I pasted a printout of the board onto a balsa wood cutout and drilled some of the key holes in it. I was then able to mount the external components and attach it to the Jetson TK1. Figures 2-5 shows what this looks like.
Notice that I have the step up/down power regulator, antennas, Arduino Due, a 2.5" HD, the Jetson USB hub, and a Grove module all hooked up with no issues. Everything fits nicely this time and looks great! I also now have the shorter standoffs so I can get the Jetduino in closer to the Jetson, and I have the shorter SATA cable so it is not all bunched up.
I also made some changes to the Jetduino connector in this round. The new version is shown in figure 6. It is not what the final version will look like, but is more a of test phase. I have added a spot for the last row of the J3A2 2mm header on the Jetson and used this to breakout the CSI camera signals into a separate 2.54 mm header that I can use for testing of the cameras. This should make it easier to test hooking up some MIPI cameras. I plan to make a first attempt with the OV5640 5MP ArduCam.
I think the Jetduino V0.2 looks pretty cool, and I cannot wait to play with the real thing. Unfortunately, the Chinese New Year starts on Feb. 1st, and it appears that most of China shuts down for a few weeks. So this will put a delay in getting the boards back. In the meantime, I am going to start working on some blog posts and videos showing how to use the Jetduino version that I currently have.
